Great observations. Nearly everything in our lives can be broken down into being fear driven, even bullying. It is our natural reaction to our primary survival instinct. Everyone feels it, but it's recognizing how it manifests itself in our thinking, and insolating it from the decisions we make that will allow us to become better investors. This is not an easy challenge and I work on it constantly. It's ok to analyze others decisions and strategies to better inform yours, but it's not ok to deflect from your own mistakes by passing along unneeded criticism. We're all in this together. Collaborate, share, learn, support.

Hey Dillon, I served in the Navy about the same time and took Marines over the Atlantic to Northern Africa in 1990 in a mine sweeper. I find your post interesting because I look at the Fearful differently. I think they tend to be the more successful of traders because they are quick to sell during the early signs of a possible downdraft, while most convince themselves that the small ice they see ahead isn't an iceberg.
